Last year, one of the many challenges floating around on the internet was the Git Up Challenge.

Fueled by Blanco Brown’s song, “The Git Up,” people from all over the world would share videos of themselves doing a dance. It’s not just any kind of dance — but usually a cowboy style one. Some people would even get creative with it and set up full scenarios or use props like cowboy boots and/or hats.

For instance, there’s this one.

This group of six — three guys and three ladies — went head-to-head in a Git Up dance off. The result? Such a fun video.

When they went to the Bahamas a little while back, they decided to take on the trendy challenge while vacationing. Sure, they could have been relaxing and laying out on the beach, but why do that when you could be taking part in this fun challenge?

And then there’s this one, where a boy accepted the challenge on his own.

This young boy decided to take on the challenge by himself and spoiler alert… He smashed it! He may be young but it didn’t quite matter, because he had the talent to take on the dance. He wore a cool hat and sunglasses (indoors!) while mouthing the lyrics with utter confidence.

He was one cute little two-stepping cowboy if we ever saw one.

And to give you one more great example…

We will never forget about the time where two horses hilariously nailed the challenge. Yep, you read that right. Two horses.

While it seems extremely on-brand for the song, we promise we are not making it up!

Now, just about a year later, we are still thinking about this hilarious challenge.

And as we reminisce about the dance challenge, we think about this one in particular, where an officer goes in for the most epic solo dance break.

The video starts out in a parking lot, where we see two parked cop cars. Then, a cop gets out of his car and walks over to face the camera. He’s wearing his uniform and looking super excited to dive into the routine.

He pretty much wastes no time getting into it.

As soon as he walks on over, he begins to mouth the lyrics to the song and dance his face off.

“Gon’ and do the 2 step then cowboy boogie / Grab your sweetheart and spin out with ’em,” Brown sings in his viral song. “Do the hoedown and get into it (whoo, whoo, whoo) / Take it to the left now and dip with it.”

The cop continues to dance and while it’s not perfect, you can tell he is really just enjoying himself and having a great time. Even when he moves out of place, he manages to laugh at himself and shake it off.

He shuffles his feet, crosses one over the other, and flails his arms in every direction. It is filled with so much energy!

The video totally went viral, too. It racked up over a half a million views along with thousands of comments and likes.

People in the comment section seem to love it too, as they thank the officer for giving them a good laugh.

“Okay, he can come to the family reunion,” one person wrote. “Love a man that can dance, plus he has handcuffs,” another person commented.

“Just watched this again, never fails to put a smile on my face,” someone said while another person commented, “Awesome and such great moves.”
