Celebrities are considered one of modern society’s stalwarts; always working hard at their craft and giving back to their community as best they can.

Some engage by donating to charity and pursuing large-scale philanthropy to assist people in need. Others, like Blake Shelton, decide to be a bit more low-key.

Blake, a native of Oklahoma, is a celebrated country music star with much to give. He recently invited foster children to participate in a fishing trip with him. The occasion was so wholesome that it just had to be shared with the world!

The event was sponsored by the Fostering Outdoor Oklahoma partnership program.

Shelton happily decided to spearhead the trip and foster a heart-warming relationship with the kids. After all, Shelton is a board director on the Oklahoma Wildlife Conversation Foundation.

This is exactly what these kids need above all else: a father-figure to show them the ropes on how to live life. They may have grown in impoverished neighborhoods or broken households and now are seeking the guidance that they lacked during their earlier years. It’s a blessing and a gift to see someone like Blake giving back to these young boys and inspiring an entire future ahead of them.

More than just a conventional fishing trip, these kids also learned to fillet their catches.

They got to reap the benefits of their efforts by eating their very own catch taken directly by the nearby pond. You can see the boys hold up their catch as they enthusiastically compare each other’s catch. The men who were present looked extremely proud of the kids for accomplishing such a tremendous job.

It takes a lot of patience to catch fish, so you can only imagine how hard it must have been with kids who have the attention span of a young pup.

Before becoming a chart-topping American singer-songwriter, Blake Shelton was the son of a used-car dealer and the owner of a beauty salon. His career in performing began in high school, where he caught the eye of an already established Mae Boren Axton. Axton was heavily interested in Shelton and even complimented his talents tremendously.

Shelton then moved to Nashville, Tennessee where, coincidentally, Axton lived at the time and even obliged to get him employed in painting houses. In the process, Axton also introduced Shelton to people within the music industry. One influential songwriter and producer who Shelton came in contact with, Bobby Braddock, assisted Shelton in landing a huge recording contract with Giant Records.

Blake recorded “Austin”, a love ballad that was structured as a series of voice messages and captured the hearts of listeners as soon as it was relayed to different country stations. The song was a successful hit; rising to prominence and shattering expectations by becoming the number one song on the Billboard’s country singles chart.

The sky was the limit for Shelton at this point and he went on to deliver his second album, Dreamer, and two EPs, Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight. He received a nomination for a Grammy Award for best country collaboration with vocals alongside Trace Adkins in the title track Hillbilly Bone.

“Thank you, Blake, for being so generous and taking time to invest in the children from your home state by showing them what outdoor Oklahoma is all about,” said wildlife officials.

Giving back is what it’s all about and Shelton gets it.

The beautiful scene by the Oklahoma farm pond could not be captured by words. Shelton raised his status as a national country music icon, to a generous, selfless hero in the eyes of these innocent boys.
