No animal ever deserves to suffer but unfortunately, it still happens every day.
An adorable pitbull named Buddha had been living on the Los Angeles, California streets and honestly, had been going through a rough time. Life was not easy for him and he struggled with a lot of pain and challenges.
He was fighting for scraps of food and water to drink every day. Poor little Buddha was homeless.
And to make matters even worse, he then suffered from some serious injures after children decided it would be a good idea to throw rocks at the dog. Now, not only was the dog lonely and hungry, but he was scared and in pain.
Don’t worry, there is a happy ending to this story though. The animal rescue organization Hope For Paws eventually came to the little pup’s rescue. But when they found him, he was in poor condition.
At this point, he was located behind a trash can. He was also paralyzed with fear. The simple act of moving out from behind of the garbage seemed nearly impossible.
The founder of Hope For Paws, Eldad Hagar, along with his friend Jackie, met Buddha themselves. Like many rescue dogs, Buddha was very fearful and hesitant but thanks to Eldad and Jackie’s experience with dogs who have been homeless and abused, they were able to calm the dog down and slowly earn his trust.
They noticed that the rocks had been thrown at his shoulders — that is where the injuries were visible on the poor dog’s body.
It was not easy — it definitely took some time — but the rescuers were finally able to get close enough to Buddha to gently put a leash around his neck. They did this by bribing him with food like juicy cheeseburgers (that’s one great way to get someone to love you!).
Slowly but surely, they lead the scared pup out from behind the trash can. They eventually make it all the way to their car, where Buddha sat in the front with both Eldad and Jackie.
He is even seen resting on Eldad which is so incredibly sweet. It shows that he clearly felt like he could trust the Hope For Paws founder and he was slowly beginning to ease up and put his faith in the kind humans’ hands.
In fact, he almost appears to be happy. He probably has never had any love or attention before, so this was a truly amazing moment where he could finally feel like he was being taken care of.

“A beautiful loving forever home, a happy ending, and another mission by Hope For Paws and Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue has been completed.”
Buddha seems to be at peace now, thanks to his rescuers. He even made friends with a cat — how cute!
We’re glad to see there was a happy ending in store for Buddha. Truly deserved.
